Three Dollar Beauty Queen

When the world is black roses

And the worst has come at last

Forgive all your shadows

Cause in time this too shall pass

With the ring your father gave you

And the motel you now call home

Sleepless eyes stare back at you

Through the hair you try and comb

You can’t remember days

When your smiles weren’t all fake

When the sun washed away your pain

Now it just causes you to ache

You treble for the needle

Like you did for your first kiss

With the boy who promised to love you

And then showed it with his fist

You crumble at the mention

Of the promises you believed

But you can stop all this pain

By rolling up your sleeve

You can’t remember faces

Of those who’ve lain across your bed

But what does that matter now

As you gently lull your head

The crying can stop now

The pain has washed away

Enjoy the peace you have

Cause tomorrow is another day

Poemhead

The Beast and Queen

Come along little girl

I’ve got your ride

It’ll rock your world

No need to hide

Whatever pleasures

Need satisfied

Come on little girl

They’re right inside

My monster trembles

As you make your way

Up to my door

Now it’s time to play

My dark beast

And your queen of black

Will break this night

No holding back

Whatever horrors

May be unleashed

They’re just food

For the beast

The black queen

Screams a sound

That shatters flood walls

But she’ll never drown

In comes the wave

And so braces the beast

It must hold on

For this is the least

What comes next,

Is a terrible growl

The beast is wet

But still it howls

This queen of black

Tears away the stars

Even in darkness

She won’t get far

Through sound and scent

The beast tracks her down

Placing fang on throat

As she hits the ground

One more game

Left to play

She begins to cry

And softly pray

But this is the beast

And there’s no doubt

When he gives a grin

Her cries run out
