This heartless shade
Stares at me now
Fathomless black eyes
And a wrinkled brow
It mocks me with its face
Trembles as I shake
Giggles when I cry
Always there when I awake
Coal black teeth
Hide away its awful grin
Suffers me no peace
Oh what a price for sin
My selfish deeds
Have gotten me this far
Do I turn in place?
Or reach for the bar?
What comes next?
Does it deliver me my fate?
It’s just standing there
Oh god why does it wait?
