Tumors

March along in columns and rows

The mass gathers and grows

Tumor like in its steady pace

To wipe sweet love from your face

Horrified by leaps and bounds

Yet awed a crowd gathers round

Sure this night all will end

These troops of hope have giving in

The gathering force ten million deep

All their stomping boots, makes it hard to sleep

Every action justified before it’s put to task

The only refuge I have found, is in the bottom of this flask

My head is feeling heavy now and soon I’ll lie down

Even though the earth still quakes whenever boot meets ground

I can’t pretend to be okay with all that I have seen

For just outside my window the tumor settles in to feed
